The Laughing Loon Restaurant was the restaurant that charitably provided aid, food and shelter to the heroic first responders during the 2017 Williams Lake Fires.

Owner Mike Bouchard was on GCWTS telling us of the restaurants rich history.

It was no Tricks only Treats at the lavish Halloween Soiree held at the luminous Sutton Hotel. Laurie Belle  (Get Cooking with the Stars, Leftcoast TV) which highlights celebrities and cooking on a global scale  (Gene Simmons, Coco Rocha, Amanda Tapping, Martin Sheen, Gold Medalist Ashleigh McIvor ) caught up with Talents Karen Holness, (Corner Gas), Adrian Holmes who starred alongside Halle Berry in Frankie and Alice, (Arrow, 19-2) , Jaime Callica Inc, and Massiah Vaughn (Dussault Inc, Steve Nash). Lesley Diana ( Promotion People) publicity firm to some of the most notable talents in North America (Emmanuelle Vaugier, Darryl Lenox) helped coordinate the celebrities and press. The ghoulishly Glam event included the four C’s :Costumes, Champagne, Canapés, and Celebrities.  Veuve Clicquot  bubbly was flowing throughout the evening and JetSet Crew Hosts Craig Stowe and Jamie Goehring were gracious.. Host Laurie Belle (Get Cooking with the Stars, Leftcoast TV) was invited to the Welcome Foodies event held at the picturesque Francesco’s Ristorante Italia. Joining Laurie was Publicist Lesley Diana (Promotion People) and Direct TV (Rogue) Creative Director Kelly Beck.

Special Guests to Francesco’s were actor Martin Sheen and son Ramon Estevez. Press for the evening included: WE Vancouver, Vancouver Magazine, Leftcoast TV, NotableCA, Straight Food, Georgia Straight, WHERE Vancouver, Rogue Direct TV, Promotion People, Vancity Vibe, Vancity Buzz, and Ed Lau. The guests were greeted with an elegant bubbly and the menu that followed was delectable.

The VIP were seated at a large table and were presented with a lavish choice of entrée. Our host Laurie chose the Lobster Bisque,Sable Fish with Saffron Risotto baked with basil, saffron,Lemon juice, white wine, onion, garlic, tomato, and presented with white asparagus. The savory meal was followed with a selection of Crème Brule, Tiramisu, and Chocolate Ganache cake.  Scrumptious indeed!

Francesco’s  menu for the gala included Roasted rack of Lamb, Cornish game hen, and Veal Porterhouse Chop. The guests enjoyed fine wines as an accompaniment to the evening. The glasses remained full, the staff and hosts were delightful, and it was a lovely evening for all. A definite food lovers delight.
